Founder of Bon Affair, Inc.
She credits her friends at Diesel and Burton Snowboards for inspiring Bon Affair. As a product specialist for those global brands, happy hour was an essential job skill. She wanted a lighter, everyday wine option that fit her professional, healthy lifestyle. The solution? Wine spritzers. The problem? A good one didn’t exist. So Jayla made it her mission. She quit her job and set out to create a better, modern spritzer worthy of America’s awesome wine culture. Between MBA classes at USD, she consulted beverage experts. The spritzers had to share her values—real wine, all-natural, zero added sugar. With no sales and no experience, Jayla raised $450K for her pre-revenue wine company from private angel investors.
Since then she appeared on ABC’s prime-time show Shark Tank where she made a deal with Mark Cuban and most was recently on ABC’s spin-off show Beyond The Tank. Today Bon Affair’s award winning label and her newest sub-brand, Vice Meets Virtue, are shipped across the country online and found at key retailers such as Whole Foods and Total Wine.
Jayla is a mentor with the Founder’s Institute, she created the “Coaching Session Program” at USD’s V2 Entrepreneurship Competition, and is a recent Board Member with Mentorship Works. With a passion for helping other entrepreneurs, Jayla partnered with Noospheric to teach the Ignite Investor Program and help other passionate entrepreneurs with big dreams raise the startup capital they need to launch or grow their business.
