Web Design Using HTML
Increasing
discovery, access, and use of the Internet is a highlight of today’s capitalist
society. Knowledge and experience are
driven by the Internet; so too is the economy. Website growth and development are therefore essential to not only our
personal development, but to the success of any business as well. And, not surprisingly, the greatest designs
of these websites will be the leaders in achieving such success.
HyperText Markup Language, or HTML, is the manner by which
websites are created. It is a computer
language, a method by which the idea of a website is translated into something
accessible and visible on the Internet. Broken down, hypertext is the means for moving around on a site: hyper means you can move around in any direction, not just linearly. It means you can link to ‘this’ by clicking
on this text. Markup means what is physically done to the
hypertext: the hypertext is marked as some sort of text design or
function, such as bolded text or italicized text, even blue- or red-colored
text. The purpose of HTML is, again, a
language. Its code-words and syntax,
called tags, translate into functions
and appearances we see on the websites through browsers like Internet Explorer
or Netscape.
The
utilization of HTML has almost limitless boundaries, and that is where the
success of website design can be measured. HTML can supplement the text on a website with operational forms,
interactive documents, embedded images, and other useful items to the viewer. With websites becoming ever more popular, the
reliance of individuals and businesses on the web has reached demanding
levels. More functional utilization of
websites, created by HTML, is at the heart of this demand. Appearance, content, accessibility and
navigability of websites, as determined by HTML design, is what separates the
good from the bad. To have a competent
understanding of the Hypertext Markup Language, and a creative employment of
its features, means being one step closer to a more successful and utilized
website for your personal or business ventures.
